The challenge
Ecuador is one of the Latin American countries suffering the highest rates of teenage pregnancies, STD infection rates and sexual violence. Furthermore, gender inequality, stigmatisation and the lack of comprehensive sexual education and health services prevent the youth of Ecuador to improve their sexual reproductive health and rights.
The solution
We want to reduce the barriers to sexual reproductive health information and services by providing an adequate e-health platform to the youth of Quito. This tool does not only provide easy access to sexual education, but also includes a function, which helps users get in contact with sexual health experts and local facilities. As this is intended to be a dynamic, student-based and locally adapted initiative, we are collaborating with medical and public health students from Quito.
4e-SRH is a student-based, public health project intending to empower the youth of Quito (Ecuador) in their sexual reproductive health and rights.
