Spark's
The challenge
After several interviews with a Parkinson's patient, we came to the conclusion that there is an unmet social need for these patients. They often feel as if only other patients can really understand what they're going through. Given the time constraints of a GP session, they often also feel uninformed about what's to come, especially at the time of diagnosis.
The solution
We propose Spark's, a phone application that aims to be a social network for people with Parkinson's disease. People can be matched based on their characteristics (most importantly, their age and the age they were at the time of diagnosis), allowing for digital chats/call between these patients. The app will also provide information about social events in their area tailored to PD patients, as well as information regarding upcoming conferences.
